Grounds that work against code 01
The restriction was not properly signed
Yellow lines need time plates unless the street is in a controlled zone with entry signs. Missing, faded, rotated or obscured plates mean the restriction cannot be enforced against a driver who could not read it.
You were loading or unloading
Single and double yellow lines usually permit loading unless kerb blips say otherwise. A pause while goods are carried into premises does not end the activity. Ask for the officer's full observation period and what was recorded during it.
You held a valid exemption
Blue Badge holders may park on yellow lines for up to three hours in most areas unless a loading ban applies.
